Backing Off - Black Myth: Wukong.

inGaming Photography

Returning to the shrine, I stocked up on medicines before re-engaging the Wandering Wight with a more patient strategy. After a teleport item accidentally reset my progress, I redirected my path toward the waterfall, taking down a tough crow-like enemy guarding the scenic passage.

Determined to enter the next major fight fully prepared, I backtracked to the shrine to restock on essential supplies rather than risking another sequence of rapid deaths. Opening the store, I sold off various valuable items collected along my journey to raise funds.

Then I invested the gold into tactical consumables, purchasing Evil-Repelling Medicine, Body-Cooling Powder, and Anti-Miasma Powder, hoping these status-curing items would give me an edge against the tough bosses waiting ahead.

With my inventory restocked, I decided to return to the broad-headed brute who had crushed me earlier. Opening the engagement, I cast my stun ability immediately and delivered a fast combo, though it barely dented his massive health pool.

Realizing that raw aggression was getting me killed, I fell back to keep my distance, recognizing that patience and timing were far more critical than raw gear upgrades.

I circled the arena until my stun cooldown refreshed, stepping in to freeze him right as he wound up a massive overhead punch.

I punished the opening with a solid sequence of light attacks, but one minor misstep allowed the brute to grab me, resulting in a sudden knockout.

Respawning at the checkpoint, I cleared out the patrolling wolves along the path and sprinted straight back to the arena. I caught the boss from behind before he could turn around, casting stun instantly to land a flawless opening combo.

The flurry made the brute furious, causing him to retaliate with sweeping strikes. Once my spell refreshed, I cast stun again and unleashed everything in my arsenal

However, in the middle of button-swapping, I accidentally consumed an Incense Trail Talisman, which teleported me out of the arena and back to the shrine, completely resetting the fight.

Frustrated by the accidental retreat, I sprinted back toward the arena, but took heavy damage from roaming enemies along the trail, losing half my health before even reaching the entrance.

Deciding I was not in the right condition to tackle the brute again, I pivoted toward the waterfall path to test my skills against a different opponent. Guarding the approach was a tall, crow-like figure dressed in warrior attire.

Though not an actual area boss, the creature hit far harder than standard enemies. I opened with a stun, dodged its aggressive counterattacks, and drained its health down until it fell, and finally secured a clear path up to the edge of the waterfall.

The patience and strategy displayed in this fight were truly remarkable especially once it became clear that brute force alone wouldn't work. However accidentally teleporting was quite a painful experience.

I agree, patience was definitely the key. But sill I need to be stronger to take this boss down.

I felt that accidental item use through the screen, one wrong button and the entire boss fight basically got deleted.

How did you manage to press the Incense Trail Talisman by mistake during such an important fight? I can imagine how frustrating it felt after getting the boss down so much.

My favorite part was the fight near the waterfall. The enemy looked completely different from the normal creatures, and defeating it gave you a nice clear path toward the waterfall.

Yeah, the waterfall fight was a nice change of pace, especially with such an unusual enemy guarding the path.
