Hydrangeas

Our hydrangeas are heavy and drooping over. We have been getting nice cool weather and regular showers for a couple of weeks now. The fall weather has really greened everything up.

Liberty apple

I am so excited to get a few apples this year! I'm been planting a few apple trees each year for 5 years now.

Fall

This is my star Liberty tree πŸ™‚ its is healthy and cropping this year. After some experience, I've figured out I need trees that can tolerate my poor soil and have some resistance to Cedar Apple Rust. The Liberty is almost completely immune to rust.

Morning Glories

Morning glories are still going strong in the late summer.

Corner post

Sometimes is better to be lucky than to be good πŸ™‚ the blackeyed susans, then zinnias, then morning glories provided a perfect three levels in this small flower bed. Of course we didn't even consider that when planting it πŸ˜†

Middle post

The next bed over didn't quite work out as perfect but has the same elements plus a few marigolds.

Blackeyed susans

The blackeyed susans have looked great all summer. Thats all for today. Thanks for checking out my post.

Thanks. We cut them back every year so the tend to flop over but it keeps the growth neat and off the house.

Lovely garden update! The flowers are beatiful, but seeing those apples on your 5-year-old trees is the best part . Great shots! πŸ“ΈπŸŽ

Thanks. Its a nice time of year here in Vermont. The summer heat is gone but fall hasn't quite arrived. We plant our trees as bare root trees so they are quite small when we plant them. Its quite rewarding to see them grow.

Sounds like the perfect season in Vermont! Watching something you planted from a tiny bare root turn into a fruit-bearing tree must be such a satisfying feeling. Wishing you a great harvest! πŸŽπŸ‚πŸŒ

Thanks for the tip. Fail on the comment. My flowers aren't in my garden and apples grow in orchards.
