Hola a todos! Mi Nombre es Carolina Moubayed. Me gradué de Profesora de Lengua y Literatura en la Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (2008), en el país de Venezuela, en la Ciudad de Barquisimeto, Estado Lara.

Hello everyone! My name is Carolina Moubayed. I graduated as a Language and Literature Teacher at the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador (2008), in the country of Venezuela, in the city of Barquisimeto, Lara State.

Soy orgullosamente Poetisa y Dramaturga Venezolana. Nací en Venezuela, y mis raíces son del Medio Oriente. Mi padre nació en Siria en la Ciudad de Alepo; mi madre, en Venezuela cuando mis abuelos huyeron de Siria por la crisis política que atravesaba el momento.

Así que pertenezco a dos mundos culturales y me siento feliz de poder fusionar la cultura de mi país de nacimiento con las costumbres de mis ancestros.

De allí parte mis creencias, mis sentir, mi sensibilidad y mi pasión por todo lo que escribo y todo lo que emprendo.

I am proudly a Venezuelan Poet and Playwright. I was born in Venezuela, and my roots are from the Middle East. My father was born in Syria in the city of Aleppo; my mother, in Venezuela when my grandparents fled Syria because of the political crisis that was going on at the time.

So I belong to two cultural worlds and I am happy to be able to merge the culture of my country of birth with the customs of my ancestors.

That is where my beliefs, my feelings, my sensibility and my passion for everything I write and everything I undertake come from.

Mis obras han sido escritas siempre con un tinte personal, realista, directo donde se refleja el contexto social de las dos culturas: la realidad de mi querido pueblo venezolano y las costumbres de mis ancestros.

Hasta los momentos tengo seis obras de teatro, que se han hecho conocer no sólo a nivel nacional, sino que también ha atravesado fronteras a nivel internacional: La Otra Mujer, Los Esquiroles, El Supervedette, Reina Por una noche, Eva en el Siglo XXI; y mi última obra Sola, Triste y Desesperada.

My plays have always been written with a personal, realistic and direct tone, reflecting the social context of the two cultures: the reality of my beloved Venezuelan people and the customs of my ancestors.

So far I have six plays, which have become known not only nationally, but has also crossed borders internationally: La Otra Mujer, Los Esquiroles, El Supervedette, Reina Por una noche, Eva en el Siglo XXI; and my latest play Sola, Triste y Desesperada.

Mis obras se caracterizan de darle importancia a la imagen de la mujer como principal protagonista en los roles que desempeñan en la sociedad; siendo considerada al igual que el género masculino un ser importante en distintas áreas. En Venezuela, se le ha dado mucho valor protagónico a la mujer; en cambio, en la cultura árabe y algunos países latinoamericanos, lamentablemente el papel de la mujer sigue siendo subyugado por el machismo.

En base a mi experiencia cultural, recorre por mis venas el llamado a la crítica, a la introspección; la voz que no calla y grita a través del arte en todo su esplendor a través de personajes reales que cualquier fémina puede sentirse identificada en la vida real; puesto que me gusta la corriente literaria realista como recurso literario.

My works are characterized by giving importance to the image of women as the main protagonist in the roles they play in society; being considered as the male gender an important being in different areas. In Venezuela, women have been given much protagonist value; on the other hand, in the Arab culture and some Latin American countries, unfortunately the role of women is still subjugated by machismo.

Based on my cultural experience, the call to criticism and introspection runs through my veins; the voice that is not silent and shouts through art in all its splendor through real characters that any female can identify with in real life; since I like the realistic literary current as a literary resource.

Sin embargo, no solo me encanta el arte, soy una mujer multifacética. Tal como les venía contando que siempre me gusta dejar mi sentir en todo lo que hago, tengo un emprendimiento en mi ciudad local llamado Namura Café, donde fusiono bebidas y postres con ingredientes con un toque especial de mis dos culturas. A mi gente le ha gustado mucho y estoy feliz por ello!

However, I not only love art, I am a multifaceted woman. As I have been telling you that I always like to leave my feeling in everything I do, I have an enterprise in my local city called Namura Café, where I fuse drinks and desserts with ingredients with a special touch of my two cultures. My people have liked it a lot and I am very happy about it!

Quiero a través de este medio mostrarles no sólo de qué tratan mis escritos; sino también mis recetas gastronómicas para que disfruten conmigo mis dos mundos culturales.

Antes de finalizar, quiero agradecer a @saravm82 y @asderhz por invitarme a unirme en esta gran plataforma. Es un gran honor para mí pertenecer a la comunidad Hive.
