Hola a todos. Hoy les comparto mis pensamientos acerca de ésta época que comienza en mi vida, ¡mi pequeño aspie llegó a la secundaria!

Hello everyone. Today I share with you my thoughts about this beginning time in my life, my little aspie made it to high school!

## Sentimientos encontrados // Mixed feelings.

Cada vez que un hijo logra una meta en su vida, para los padres es una sensación de felicidad indescriptible. Cuando nuestro hijo tiene capacidades diferentes, cada pequeño logro produce mucha felicidad. Que mi niño haya culminado con éxito esta etapa escolar es muy grato y a la vez desafiante. Viene un etapa muy distinta, la secundaria, en la cual podré observar cuanto de mi trabajo por años le ayudará a poder desenvolverse y adaptarse.

Every time a child achieves a goal in his or her life, for parents it is a feeling of indescribable happiness. When our child is differently abled, every little achievement brings a lot of happiness. The fact that my child has successfully completed this school stage is very gratifying and challenging at the same time. There is a very different stage coming up, high school, in which I will be able to see how much of my work over the years will help him to develop and adapt.

Mi niño ha cambiado mucho, sin embargo, sus dificultades para socializar o seguir normas sociales “correctas” siguen latentes. Deberá enfrentarse al bulling, deberá poder manejarlo y adaptarse, no podré estar a su lado así que me toca darle la confianza necesaria para que me diga cuando mamá debe actuar. Entiendo que buscará copiar el estilo “adolescente”, lo necesitará para adaptarse… sé que mamá ya no puede estar a cada instante pero créanme, tampoco estaré muy lejos. Veremos que nos depara esta hermosa etapa, confío plenamente en Dios y en mi niño y sé, que con su fortaleza logrará como siempre abrirse camino, resaltar y seguir adelante.

I understand that she will try to copy the "teenager" style, she will need it to adapt... I know that mom can't be there every moment but believe me, I won't be far away either. We will see what this beautiful stage has in store for us, I have full confidence in God and in my child and I know that with his strength he will manage, as always, to make his way, stand out and move forward.
