(ESP VER) ¡Hola amigos de HiveArte! Todo empezó cuando venía yo de mis clases sabatinas, como yo vivo en el centro de la ciudad tomé el bus correspondiente, pero pasó que, un par de cuadras antes de llegar a mi parada, en el medio de las dos vías de carros, habían zapatos, decorados de distintas formas, algunos simplemente sucios, otros pintados, o con muñecos pegados encima.

Aunque eso llamó bastante mi atención, yo me bajé en la parada que me correspondía, con la total seguridad de que eso era obra de algún “loco” de la calle o algo así. Fue entonces cuando, pasando por el boulevard, vi que los zapatos seguían ese camino, pero esta vez iban acompañados de huellas de pintura, y que, claramente, estaban marcando un camino. Aun con deseos de volver a casa, como si se tratase de una energía superior o un llamado artístico profundo, empecé a seguir esas huellas, ya convencido de que no era algo tan casual y ya (por supuesto) con la cámara de mi teléfono en mano. Caminaba entre el camino de zapatos abandonados en la calle y las huellas, notando como habían adornado cada uno y cómo los habían dispuestos en el centro del boulevard, esta vez ya convencido de que no era un evento casual, sino una obra artística pensada, ideada por alguien; pero a la vez intrigado por saber hasta dónde me llevaría (Hay que aclarar que, en este punto si pude ver lo que había al fondo, pero me sentía tan intrigado y motivado por la casual disposición que no quise arruinar el juego de seguir el camino y sorprenderme de hasta dónde llegaba). Al final del camino, estaban el resto de los zapatos agrupados y al levantar la vista, me encontré con la Bienal del Sur; un evento a gran escala que, tal como dice su nombre, se realiza cada dos años y dónde participan artistas famosos, no solo de la localidad, sino internacionales y en esta oportunidad le había tocado a mi pequeña Maracay albergar en ella las obras de todos estos artistas. Lo triste fue que aún no habían empezado los eventos como tal, aún estaban haciendo las instalaciones de sonidos y de luces para un evento que sería nocturno y al que (lamentablemente) no iba a poder quedarme. Sin embargo, creo que eso tuvo sus ventajas, porque pude ver con total tranquilidad las obras que ya estaban expuestas y tomar algunas fotos de ellas que, seguro entre la multitud de personas y la luz nocturna no habría podido tomar. Entre esas obras varias llamaron mi atención y decidí fotografiarlas para recordarlas en la posteridad y esas son las que he traído a ustedes a lo largo de mi relato para que las puedan apreciar. Este cuadro, lamentablemente no pude averiguar su nombre, porque no estaba su autor, pero en la parte de atrás decía que era una obra de Mario Abreu, quien fue un emblemático pintor venezolano fallecido en 1993 que, según mi entender, turna en sus obras el surrealismo, con la técnica del puntillismo.

Este cuadro es de Natalia Rondón, me habría gustado conocer a la autora y conocer su concepto, sin embargo, la obra se llama “Tonalidades para los lugareños”

Este otro cuadro, de Wayne Morris (alias Rafiki), titulado Blood in my Eye, también llamó mi atención por la utilización de los colores, que crean un efecto muy característico de la pintura moderna.

Este, el último cuadro que traje para ustedes, es de Chemir Colina y su nombre es, en realidad, el mismo de la temática de toda la Bienal, “calle, memoria y esperanza”; Aunque como llegué en medio de los preparativos y no pude conversar con los artistas o ver las actividades que se iban a realizar (Habían personas haciendo body paint, pero no me pareció prudente tomarles fotos o acercarme a preguntarles detalles sobre el evento), pienso que, todo el concepto de la galería, los zapatos “abandonados”, que se haga en medio de un boulevard y que sea en el corazón de la ciudad, me hacen pensar en que su concepto tiene que ver con los niños de la calle, pero también de que todos tenemos una esperanza para salir adelante, si recordamos nuestro pasado y decidimos cambiarlo. It all started when I was coming from my Saturday classes, as I live in the city centre I took the bus, but it happened that, a couple of blocks before reaching my stop, in the middle of the two lanes of cars, there were shoes, decorated in different ways, some simply dirty, others painted, or with dolls stuck on them.

Although this attracted my attention, I got off at my stop, certain that this was the work of some "crazy" street person or something. It was then when, passing along the boulevard, I saw that the shoes were still following that path, but this time they were accompanied by painted footprints, and that they were clearly marking a path. Still longing to return home, as if by some higher energy or deep artistic calling, I began to follow those footprints, already convinced that it was not so casual and already (of course) with my phone camera in hand. I walked between the path of abandoned shoes in the street and the footprints, noticing how each one had been decorated and how they had been arranged in the centre of the boulevard, this time already convinced that it was not a casual event, but an artistic work thought out, devised by someone; but at the same time intrigued to know where it would lead me (I must clarify that, at this point I could see what was in the background, but I felt so intrigued and motivated by the casual arrangement that I didn't want to ruin the game of following the path and surprise myself as to how far it would lead me). At the end of the road, the rest of the shoes were grouped together and when I looked up, I found the Bienal del Sur; a large-scale event that, as the name says, is held every two years and where famous artists participate, not only local but also international, and this time it was my little Maracay's turn to host the works of all these artists. The sad thing was that the events had not yet started as such, they were still making the sound and light installations for an event that would be at night and that (unfortunately) I was not going to be able to stay for. However, I think that this had its advantages, because I was able to see the works that were already on display and take some photos of them that I wouldn't have been able to take in the crowd of people and the night light. Among these works, several caught my attention and I decided to photograph them to remember them for posterity, and these are the ones I have brought to you throughout my story so that you can appreciate them. Unfortunately I could not find out the name of this painting, because the author was not there, but on the back it said that it was a work by Mario Abreu, who was an emblematic Venezuelan painter who died in 1993 and who, as I understand it, combines surrealism with the technique of pointillism in his works.

This painting is by Natalia Rondón, I would have liked to know the author and her concept, however, the work is called "Tonalities for the locals".

This other painting, by Wayne Morris (aka Rafiki), entitled Blood in my Eye, also caught my attention because of the use of colours, which create an effect very characteristic of modern painting.

This, the last painting I brought for you, is by Chemir Colina and its name is, in fact, the same as the theme of the whole Biennial, "street, memory and hope"; Although I arrived in the middle of the preparations and was not able to talk to the artists or see the activities that were going to take place (there were people doing body paint, but I didn't think it prudent to take photos of them or to approach them to ask details about the event), I think that the whole concept of the gallery, the "abandoned" shoes, the fact that it is in the middle of a boulevard and that it is in the heart of the city, make me think that its concept has to do with street children, but also that we all have a hope to get ahead, if we remember our past and decide to change it.
