Hola, mi nombre es Belén Muñoz. Soy venezolana. Oriunda del pueblo de San Mateo, Edo Aragua. La tierra del Libertador Simón Bolívar. Allí crecí y me desarrollé en mi adolescencia hasta los 22 años. Mi hermana y yo (soy gemela), somos las antepenúltimas hijas de nueve hermanos. Nuestros padres nos criaron bajo la moral y las viejas pero buenas costumbres. Desde que tengo uso de razón, siempre sentí un amor especial hacia las artes, hacia Dios y por la naturaleza. Amo el mar y bañarme en él como Dios me trajo al mundo. Recuerdo que en el colegio, las maestras siempre me involucraban para que yo les hiciera las carteleras… y en el liceo fue lo mismo, no tenía escapatoria! ***I learned to draw and paint on my own.** Later **I was perfected in the Arts school**. Luego, decido volver a estudiar Artes pero en otra Ciudad, Maracay. Todo cambió para mí; era lo que deseaba.** Era el Mundo donde me visualicé siempre.*Mi escuela de Artes se transformaría en mi refugio, en mi amor , mi vida y felicidad en donde transcurrieron más de treinta años de mi existencia, pues, más tarde me convertiría en una de sus profesores. Allí conocí personas extraordinarias: críticos de artes, maestros, amigos que conservo hasta el día de hoy, hasta enemigos tuve. Allí, por primera vez, tuve contacto con la arcilla, material que me apasionó porque ese dibujo que antes hacía en un papel, ahora se convertiría en algo tridimensional y real. Fue tanta mi impresión, que ese día decidí convertirme en escultora, además de pintora. Tuve conocimientos sobre la cerámica, el grabado y sus diferentes técnicas, las artes del fuego, la joyería, elaboración del papel, del cuento y la fotografía entre otras mil cosas más… en fin, éste mundo ha sido, y así será hasta el final de mis días, mi refugio, escapatoria del mundo externo y, lo más importante, ¡mi comunión espiritual con Dios!…* *Once **I graduated from high school, I went to the capital to study Arts at the Central University of Venezuela… but I was not happy!** In the third semester, I dropped out… a lot of theory and no practice! **I needed to do something with my hands. Later, I decide to go back to studying Arts but in another City, Maracay. Everything changed for me; It was what I wanted.** It was the World where I always visualized myself. My school of Arts would become my refuge, my love, my life and happiness where more than thirty years of my existence passed, then later I would become one of his teachers. There I met extraordinary people: art critics, teachers, friends that I still have to this day, I even had enemies. There, for the first time, I had contact with clay, a material that I was passionate about because that drawing that I used to make on paper would now become something three-dimensional and real. My impression was so great that that day I decided to become a sculptor as well as a painter.
