Hello everyone!

Today, there's no Monster Monday, instead, I got another cargo and I want to share this one with you.

As you can see on the title and the thumbnail, obviously, it's about the second edition of The One Ring roleplaying game.

Today, I got an unexpected cargo, and there was the full set of The One Ring in it. I'm not a super Lord of the Rings fan. I mean, I don't know much of the deep lore, I didn't memorize all the phrases in the movies, but I like the concept and have a huge respect of the work to J. R. R. Tolkien. Also, first time I got full set for a review, before it's release. It also shows me that my full effort on the hobby finally gets its worth somehow. So... Here's the photos and the books:

Başlıkta ve ön görselde de gördüğünüz üzere, bugünün konusu The One Ring rol yapma oyununun ikinci sürümü.

Bugün beklenmedik bir kargo aldım, ve içinde The One Ring'in tam seti vardı. Açıkçası Lord of the Rings'in aşırı büyük bir hayranı değilim. Yani derin hikayesine aşina değilim, filmlerdeki bütün replikleri ezberlemedim, ama konseptini severim ve J. R. R. Tolkien'in işine de büyük saygı duyuyorum. Here is the Core Rulebook. It has a beautiful print quality. It also has a magnificent matte interior print. This 240 pages long book has everything we need to create a character, follow the lore, and run adventures in the Middle-Earth setting. Check the image right below, its binding looks strong enough to keep the book for decades.

İşte Kural Kitabı. Baskı kalitesi muhteşem. Ayrıca iç baskı kalitesi de oldukça hoş ve mat bir baskıya sahip. 240 sayfalık bu kitabın içinde karakter yaratmak, hikayeyi takip etmek ve Orta Dünya'da bir macera oynatabilmek için gerekli bütün bilgiler mevcut. Hemen alttaki resme bakarsanız, kitabın ciltlemesinin çok güçlü olduğunu görebilirsiniz. Kitabı onlarca yıl sağlam tutabilir.

Here is the Loremaster's Screen. It has all the important tables inside. It also has its own kind of artwork, which is kinda dark and hard to see the details when you're inside and there's no light source around (except daylight).

İşte, Loremaster Ekranı. İçinde oyunla ilgili bütün önemli tablolar mevcut. Ön tarafında da kendi tarzında bir görseli var, ama o kadar karanlık ki, eğer iç mekandaysanız ve (gün ışığı hariç) bir ışık kaynağı yoksa detayları anlamak zorlaşıyor.

Here is the interior look of the box of Starter Set. One is basically a Loremaster Screen, it has tables for Starter Set rules. The other part is the map of Shire, and technically, the whole map of Starter Set adventures. It's printed the surface, which is brilliant, I believe.

Burada Başlangıç Seti'nin kutusunun iç yüzleri var. Biri esasen Loremaster Ekranı, içinde Başlangıç Seti kurallarına özgü tablolar var. Diğeri ise Shire haritası ve teknik olarak Başlangıç Seti maceralarının geçtiği harita. İçe baskı yapılmış ve bence bu çok mantıklı bir hareket.

These are books came from the box. They are zine-style printed books, and they still have the matte interior pages. Yellow is the rules for Starter Set, extremely light version of the Core Rulebook. Green is The Shire book, which has enough info about Shire. Red is the adventure book, which has five hobbit adventures and an epilogue. Blue is not part of the Starter Set. It came with Loremaster's Screen. It has details about Rivendell.

Bunlar da kutudan çıkan kitaplar. Dergi tarzında basılmışlar, ama iç sayfalar yine mat. Sarı olan Başlangıç Seti için temel kuralları içeren, Kural Kitabı'na kıyasla aşırı basit bir içeriğe sahip bir kitap. Yeşil olan Shire hakkında bilgilerin olduğu bir kitap. Kırmızı olanı, içinde 5 tane basit hobbit macerası olan bir macera kitabı. Mavi olan kutudan çıkmadı, Loremaster Ekranı ile geldi. O da Rivendell hakkında gerekli bilgileri içeren bir kitap.

These are pre-made character sheets, but not just that. There are some iconic characters like Bilbo Baggins and Balin, Son of Fundin. And also some lore characters, like Primula and Drogo, who are fiancé and will be parents of little Frodo Baggins.

Here is the map of Eriador. Its other side is a big Shire map. It was too big to capture, so I just showed one page. Think it as 4 pages wide and 2 pages height. It also has a beautiful quality.

Burada da Eriador haritası var. Diğer tarafıysa büyük bir Shire haritası. Fotoğraflamak için fazla büyüktü, o yüzden tek sayfa yüzünü gösterdim. Açılınca 4 sayfa genişliğinde ve 2 sayfa yüksekliğinde olduğunu düşünebilirsiniz.

These are the position cards. They are kinda cheat sheet when you enter combat. There are four positions in combat and all of them have different features. I really like using cards or other items as reminder.

Bunlar da pozisyon kartları. Savaş başladığı zaman kopya olarak kullanılıyorlar. Savaşta dört farklı pozisyon mevcut ve her birinin farklı bir özelliği var. Oyunlarda kart ve benzeri hatırlatıcılar kullanılması çok sevdiğim bir şey.

These are the dice! The game needs six of 6-sided dice, and two of 12-sided dice. 6-sided dice have "elf rune" on their 6 side, and 12-sided dice have both Gandalf rune (left) and Sauron's Eye (right), and all of them have important effects in the game.

Bunlar da zarlar! Oyun için altı tane 6 yüzlü zar ve iki tane 12 yüzlü zar gerekiyor. 6 yüzlü zarın 6 yüzünde "elf rünü" ve 12 yüzlü zarın birer yüzünde de Gandalf rünü (soldaki) ve Sauron'un Gözü (sağdaki) var. Bunlar oyun içinde önemli etkilere sahipler.

And lastly, these are equipment cards. One side has the image, and the other side has the info. Actually, there's no big use of the items, but they may come in handy.

Ve son olarak, envanter kartları. Bir yüzünde görsel, diğer yüzünde de bilgisi var. Aslında eşyaların o kadar mühim bir kullanımı yok, ama işlevsel olabilirler.

So, that's all for now. FriaLigan sent me the Starter Set as PDF some months ago, and we tried the adventures and some of the game rules. I have to say that Starter Set adventures are not too promising, but I believe that the games with core rules and upcoming scenarios will be lots of fun. There will be the first university convention of the year next month, and I'll be busy with another FriaLigan game for it, which is called Vaesen. After that, maybe I could put a review of The One Ring. See you again in other posts!

Şimdilik bu kadar. FriaLigan bana Başlangıç Seti'ni PDF olarak birkaç ay önce yollamıştı, ve biz de maceraları ve oyun kurallarını biraz denedik. Şunu söylemem lazım ki, Başlangıç Seti senaryoları çok da ahım şahım değiller. Yine de Kural Kitabı eşliğinde oynanacak büyük oyunların ve yayınlanacak yeni senaryoların çok daha eğlenceli olacağına inanıyorum. 19-20 Mart'ta Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi'nin etkinliği var, şimdilik o etkinlik için FriaLigan'ın Vaesen adındaki başka bir oyunuyla meşgul olacağım.
