Como en todo lo que es nuevo, lo primero que afrontamos son los temores e inseguridades, o por lo menos en mi caso, así era. Tenía mucho temor de no tener el nivel necesario para enfrentarme a otro grupo de chicos en batallas de canto. Sin embargo, desde un inicio, mi prioridad fue crecer como cantante ya que nunca antes había tenido un profesor de canto, sino que por mis propios méritos fui aprendiendo de a poco.

Desde muy niño me gustó cantar, y era un sueño para mí poder presentarme en grandes escenarios demostrando mi talento, y aunque en mi niñez no pude experimentarlo, decidí en mi adolescencia dar el todo por este anhelo que durante mucho estuvo en mi corazón. Fue cuando por medio de una publicación en facebook me enteré de una fundación llamada Nace Una Estrella, donde además concursar, los estudiantes en el proceso recibían clases de canto.

>Since I was a child I liked to sing, and it was a dream for me to be able to perform on big stages showing my talent, and although in my childhood I could not experience it, I decided in my adolescence to give everything for this desire that for a long time was in my heart. It was through a publication on facebook that I found out about a foundation called Nace Una Estrella, where in addition to competing, the students in the process received singing lessons.

Al saber de ello, no dude en escribirles para recibir la información necesaria, y me citaron para una audición previa. Con mucho temor fui al sitio y en la espera conocí a otros chicos que ya estaban dentro y que manifestaban tener un gran talento, lo que me asustó aun más; logré audicionar y fui aceptado con la advertencia de que era el último en entrar y que los demás chicos ya tenían meses participando y recibiendo clases, lo que era una desventaja para mí.

>When I heard about it, I did not hesitate to write to them to receive the necessary information, and I was summoned for a previous audition. With much fear I went to the site and while waiting I met other guys who were already inside and who claimed to have great talent, which scared me even more; I managed to audition and was accepted with the warning that I was the last one to enter and that the other guys had already been participating and receiving classes for months, which was a disadvantage for me.

Por supuesto, decidí asumir el reto porque mi principal motivación era crecer en mi talento, y creí firmemente que era el tiempo y el lugar correcto, y lo fue. A partir de allí, casi todos los días nos reuníamos para ensayar para las presentaciones. Eran varias galas antes de la gran final, pero en vista de entrar retardado yo me presentaría en menor número de galas, aun así tenía oportunidad de disfrutar mucho de cada presentación.

>Of course, I decided to take on the challenge because my main motivation was to grow in my talent, and I firmly believed that it was the right time and the right place, and it was. From then on, almost every day we met to rehearse for the presentations. There were several galas before the grand finale, but in view of entering late I would perform in fewer galas, yet I had the opportunity to enjoy each performance very much.

Cuando menos lo esperé, mi sueño de presentarme cantando en un escenario distinto al del baño o la sala de mi casa, se estaba haciendo realidad. Fue bastante aterrador subirse allí y mirar las luces y a todas las personas con sus miradas fijas hacia mí, pero pensé por un momento y dije, “esto es lo que quería, así que voy a disfrutarlo”; y fue una gran experiencia. Si bien no fue la mejor presentación de la noche, pues apenas tenía 3 días dentro de la fundación y nada de experiencia con clases de canto ni escenarios, pero vaya que lo disfruté.

>When I least expected it, my dream of performing on a stage other than my bathroom or living room was coming true. It was pretty scary to get up there and look at the lights and all the people staring at me, but I thought for a moment and said, "this is what I wanted, so I'm going to enjoy it"; and it was a great experience. While it wasn't the best performance of the night, because I was only 3 days into the foundation and had no experience with singing lessons or stages, but boy did I enjoy it.

Cuando te encuentras en ese punto y te das cuenta que eres el protagonista de tus sueños, entonces comienzas a disfrutarlo desde el primer momento. Muchas veces queremos que todo sea perfecto para poder decir que fue la mejor experiencia, pero yo creo que cada experiencia tiene algo maravilloso de lo cual nunca debemos olvidarnos o no darle la importancia necesaria. Fue allí cuando comenzó mi historia, y entendía que era el comienzo, por eso lo disfruté al máximo.

>When you are at that point and you realize that you are the protagonist of your dreams, then you start to enjoy it from the first moment. Many times we want everything to be perfect so we can say that it was the best experience, but I believe that every experience has something wonderful that we should never forget or not give it the necessary importance. That's when my story began, and I understood that it was the beginning, so I enjoyed it to the fullest.

Cada gala fue una experiencia única y maravillosa, y me refiero a que con sus altos y bajos, cada una de ellas me enseñó. El hecho de aprender nos hace ganadores, y considero que siempre esa debe ser nuestra actitud ante toda circunstancia, sin reproches ni quejas, sino entender que cada vez que aprendemos algo, estamos creciendo como personas, siendo mejores cada día logrando los objetivos que nos marquemos. Esta fue mi meta en todo momento, y agradezco el tener una gran profesora, y excelente compañeros.

>Each gala was a unique and wonderful experience, and I mean that with its ups and downs, each one of them taught me. The fact of learning makes us winners, and I believe that this should always be our attitude in all circumstances, without reproaches or complaints, but understand that every time we learn something, we are growing as people, being better every day achieving the goals we set for ourselves. This was my goal at all times, and I am grateful to have a great teacher and excellent classmates.

Disfruté mis días allí fuera y dentro del escenario; junto a mis amigos, además de compartir la misma pasión por la música, compartíamos nuestro tiempo aprendiendo unos de otros, aprendiendo de cada historia, anécdota y momentos vividos por cada uno de nosotros. Es maravilloso cuando te sientes compenetrado con un sitio y su gente, donde cada día eres mejor ser humano, porque eso te dice que estás en el lugar correcto y con las personas correctas.

>I enjoyed my days there off and on stage; together with my friends, besides sharing the same passion for music, we shared our time learning from each other, learning from every story, anecdote and moments lived by each one of us. It's wonderful when you feel at one with a place and its people, where every day you are a better human being, because that tells you that you are in the right place and with the right people.

Al final, evidentemente no fui el ganador, pero me agradó recibir tantas felicitaciones y sobretodo lograr mi propósito de crecer como cantante. En muy poco tiempo tuve un estupendo avance, que ni yo podría creerlo. Por eso esa noche fue para mí tan especial, porque fue la confirmación de que no hay esfuerzo que no valga la pena, y que las cosas que nos propongamos de corazón, las podemos lograr en la voluntad de Dios.

>In the end, I was obviously not the winner, but I was pleased to receive so many congratulations and above all to achieve my goal of growing as a singer. In a very short time I had such a great progress, that not even I could believe it. That is why that night was so special for me, because it was the confirmation that there is no effort that is not worth it, and that the things that we propose from the heart, we can achieve them in God's will.

Esta fue brevemente la historia de mi participación en un concurso de canto, que más que un concurso, fue una escuela integral donde aprendí mucho sobre muchas cosas. Y la cual me dio la oportunidad de iniciar a experimentar muchas otras cosas. Infinitamente estoy agradecido con Dios por esta oportunidad y por permitir esto en mi vida. Esto fue solo el comienzo, pronto compartiré otras grandes experiencias con el canto. Saludos y gracias por leer.
