A los que no saben, Soy venezolana y en mi país nos gusta mucho comer arepas, es parte fundamental de nuestra gastronomía, estas se preparan con harina de maíz, son muy fácil de hacer y lo mejor es que las puedes combinar con lo que más te guste.

Dentro de la alimentación cetogenica, es muy complicado incluir las arepas porque son altas en hidratos de carbono y estas nos sacarían del estado de cetosis (estado metabólico natural del cuerpo en el cual esta quema grasa en lugar de carbohidratos para obtener energía) y en la dieta solo se permiten 40 gramos de hidratos al dia, llevar la cuenta es fácil, esto te permite, además de controlar tu alimentación, saber que puedes comer y en qué cantidad.

A los que les gusta comer arepas como a mí y están en un régimen que prácticamente se los “prohíbe” les traigo esta receta, fácil, rica y con solo 10 gramos de carbohidratos por porción.

Preparación de las tostadas / Preparation of the toasts

En un bowl colocar la harina, sal y agua, mezclan hasta que la masa que se forma no tenga grumos, dejar reposar por 5 minutos y continuar amasando, es posible que necesite más agua, así que la van colocando de a poco hasta que les quede una masa suave y consistente.

Forman bolitas de 25 gramos y en una tabla colocan una bolsa plástica por debajo y encima para que no se pegue la masa (yo le pongo un poco de aceite al plástico para que sea más fácil al momento de separar).

Con lo que tengan a mano y les resulte más fácil hacen presión sobre la masa hasta que les quede del grosor que ustedes prefieran, yo utilice un plato y me gusta que queden bastante delgadas.

Luego en una plancha bien caliente las colocan, la dejan dorar por ambos lados y luego las meten al horno a 250°F por aproximadamente 8 minutos hasta que queden bien tostadas.

Preparación de los huevos / Egg preparation

Pican el salame chiquitito y un ajo (el ajo es opcional y es mi toque personal, pero quedan muy ricos), y en un sartén colocan aceite de oliva y sofríen, luego colocan los huevos con sal y pimienta negra molida, van a revolver con calma para que no se les quemen y cuando ya estén casi cocidos les colocan una cucharada de mantequilla, terminan de cocinar unos segundos para que los huevos no queden muy secos.

Sobre la tostada colocan el huevo, pueden colocarles las verduras que más les guste, yo le puse perejil y merquen con un chorrito de aceite de oliva, porque el contraste de sabores es exquisito y el toque picante que proporciona el merquen hace la diferencia.
