Soy de la Habana, Cuba y desde pequeño he practicado varios deportes, karate, Béisbol hasta que llegó el Voleibol a mi vida y fue el deporte que más tiempo le dediqué y que más frutos vi ya que pude representar a mi país. >I am from Havana, Cuba and since I was a child I have practiced several sports, karate, baseball until volleyball came into my life and it was the sport that I dedicated more time to it and that I saw more fruits since I was able to represent my country.

Pero la historia que les cuento hoy no tiene que ver con ninguno de esos deportes, pues hace tres años aproximadamente tuve la bendición de poder comprarme mi primera bicicleta, no era la mejor, ni la más bonita, tenía bastantes defectos pero me ayudó a solucionar el problema de transporte por el cual estaba atravesado. >But the story I tell you today has nothing to do with any of those sports, because about three years ago I was blessed to be able to buy my first bike, it was not the best, nor the prettiest, it had many defects but it helped me to solve the transportation problem I was going through.

Poco a poco pude cambiarle algunas piezas que hacían de mi viaje más seguro y cómodo lo que me permitió en mis tiempos libres hacer mensajerías para así poder ganar un dinero extra. >Little by little I was able to change some parts that made my trip safer and more comfortable which allowed me in my free time to do courier services to earn some extra money.

Al cabo de los dos años me pude comprar mi bicicleta actual, les confieso que nunca pensé que el ciclismo me fuera a gustar tanto, pero hoy en día es una de las cosas que más disfruto. >After two years I was able to buy my current bike, I confess that I never thought that I would like cycling so much, but today it is one of the things I enjoy the most.

El pasado sábado me hicieron la propuesta de hacer una mensajería hasta la playa de Guanabo, una de las últimas playas del Este, acepté y fueron 61.5 Km llenos de momentos inolvidables. >Last Saturday I was proposed to do a messenger service to Guanabo beach, one of the last beaches in the East, I accepted and it was 61.5 km full of unforgettable moments.

El sol estaba bien fuerte por lo que tomé mi pomo lleno de agua, mis gafas y coloqué el móvil en el porta celular en modo GPS era primera vez que iba solo en bici, hasta el momento había estado acostumbrado a ir en guagua junto a un gran número de amigos por lo tanto no prestaba mucha atención al viaje. Una vez que empecé a darle a los pedales en mi mente estaba la frase.. "mientras no hayan lomas no hay problemas" Pero si, habían, y que lomas!! Pero el sacrificio en la subida no era nada comparado con lo gratificante del descenso, el aire refrescante en la cara, la velocidad estilo los videojuegos que jugaba cuando pequeño, la emoción del momento era especial, uno de los momentos que más amé del viaje fue cuando ví el mar a lo lejos y ver como me iba acercando hasta estar muy serca, mi mente se repetía.. Waoo estoy aquí?! Cuando pase por la primera playa me dieron ganas de detenerme y dar un paseó por la arena, pero tenía un objetivo, hacer la mensajería y entregar el paquete así que fuí disciplinado y continué, esto trajo a mi mente una enseñanza, ¿Cuántas veces en la vida no hemos llegado a nuestros objetivos por desviarnos tras las distracciones? >The sun was very strong so I took my knob full of water, my glasses and placed my cell phone in the cell phone holder in GPS mode, it was the first time I went alone on a bike, so far I had been used to go by bus with a large number of friends so I did not pay much attention to the trip. When I passed by the first beach I felt like stopping and take a walk on the sand, but I had a goal, to make the courier and deliver the package so I was disciplined and continued, this brought to my mind a teaching, how many times in life we have not reached our goals because we deviated behind distractions?

Una vez que llegó le entregué su pedido y quedó muy complacida, nadie en la familia podía creer de dónde había venido en bicicleta... Hice muy buena amistad y me comentaron que si volvía a ir podía dejar la bicicleta en su casa e irme a bañar en la playa sin problemas. >Once she arrived I gave her her order and she was very pleased, nobody in the family could believe where she had come from on a bicycle... De regreso fuí a la primera playa que había visto, mi primer intento de distracción, y pude disfrutar con calma y satisfacción, además de eso, sabes que pasó? Me encontré con un primo mío, que genial, tal parece que hubiese sido planeado... si me hubiera detenido en el primer momento, de regreso no hubiera ido y no me hubiera encontrado con el. >On the way back I went to the first beach I had seen, my first attempt of distraction, and I could enjoy it with calm and satisfaction, besides that, you know what happened?
