Me gustaba cantar, bailar, era muy despierta y era esa alumna que en la escuela podían escoger para todo porque yo siempre daba el paso al frente. Con el deseo gigante de estudiar arqueología, algo que amaba y amo hasta el día de hoy. Hice todas las averiguaciones pertinentes, pues sabía que en la Universidad de la Habana no se estudia esa carrera y supe entonces que tenía que dirigirme para eso a la Universidad de San Gerónimo cuyo rector era el Historiador de la Habana, Dr. Eusebio Leal. Allí me dieron toda la informacion, cómo serían las pruebas de ingreso, ya que tenía que tener como mínimo 6 meses trabajados en un centro laboral de la Habana Vieja. Recuerdo que el día de la entrevista con la profesora Gloria lloré por la emoción de saber que tendría la oportunidad de ser lo que yo quería, una arqueóloga. Pues nada, muy inexperta yo, pero eso sí, con todas las ganas del mundo, empecé atrabajar en un centro como me indicaron y a estudiar para las pruebas. La pequeña de la casa salía de su casa en la mañana temprano y llegaba tarde en la noche, todo por cumplir su objetivo. > I finished pre-university with so many dreams, with so much decision, with so much hope. Todo lo que había pensado para mi vida se vino abajo, los siguientes años de mi vida fueron en casa o yendo constantemente a hospitales, nadie sabía la causa de mis síntomas, de mis dolores, de mi incapacidad para comer, de mis fiebres y mi delgadez tan grande, obviamente me deprimí mucho pues ya no me era posible tener la vida de una joven de mi edad y las crisis cada vez eran peores. Luego de algunos años y varios ingresos y pruebas, en el hospital “Hermanos Ameijeiras” descubrieron lo que tenía en el año 2021, síndrome de la arteria aortomesenterica. > It was there that my life took a change, which unfortunately was for the worse, because the first symptoms of an illness that I still suffer from today began. Tenía menos dolores y crisis menos frecuentes Me dijeron, de paso, que en Cuba no se operaba ni se contaban con los medicamentos para tratarla. Pues nada, a esa hora aparecieron amistades y familiares para ayudar y apoyarme, y yo comencé una dieta que me indicó el médico, junto con ir al gimnasio porque tenía que aumentar de peso obligatoriamente, ya que en esta enfermedad eso es algo primordial, tener un peso controlado y nunca bajo. En la actualidad , he aprendido a convivir con mi enfermedad y los síntomas, con los dolores, con las inyecciones y sueros para aliviarlos. No les miento, es bien difícil, puesto que estoy muy bien hoy y de pronto, estoy mal al otro día, pero si algo me enseñó la vida y esta enfermedad, es que soy mas fuerte de lo que jamás imaginé y que lo mas preciado que tenemos no es el dinero ni lo material, lo más preciado es la salud y las personas que amamos. > I was told, by the way, that in Cuba there was no surgery and there were no medicines to treat it. A lo mejor mi presentación no es como otras que he leído hasta ahora en Hive, pero la escribí, simplemente de acuerdo a mi forma de sentir y creo que de eso se trata, de salirse un poco de los moldes típicos y mostrame aquí tal cual soy.
