Nunca dejes de estudiar.

Día con día se realizan gran cantidad de investigaciones dando como resultado nuevos hallazgos así como diferentes técnicas y estrategias para lograr avances significativos en la Salud Mental de nuestros clientes. Siempre es importante tener las ganas de seguir aprendiendo y entender que aunque seamos profesionales siempre hay algo nuevo que aprender, de nuestra experiencia, de nuestros errores, de nuestros clientes y de las personas que nos rodean.

No obligues.

En ocasiones puede ser bastante frustrante el trabajar y trabajar ciertas situaciones con tu cliente, y que sin embargo éste no deje de autosabotearse, pero parte de nuestra gran labor es saber esperar y tener paciencia con cada uno de nuestros clientes hasta que ellos estén listos para afrontar y dar el paso hacia un cambio, en nosotros queda apoyar a nuestros clientes enseñarle las posibles soluciones brindarle diferentes herramientas pero queda en éste la decisión de tomarla o dejarla.

Dale importancia.

No seas como aquellos que después de tratar muchos casos dejan de dar la importancia al ser humano, tómate el tiempo necesario para trabajar en tu caso, para realizar el análisis, para realizar el diagnóstico pertinente, la experiencia es sumamente valiosa, pero recuerda que no podemos realizar un diagnóstico en la primera sesión, los seres humanos somos demasiado complejos. Y eso es lo más importante recordar siempre estás trabajando con un ser humano.

Tu no debes decidir.

Siempre hay que procurar la independencia de los clientes, siempre es necesario trabajar en la toma de decisión, que ellos decidan lo que es necesario hacer, recuerda que nosotros no estamos ahí para solucionar su problema, sino para ayudarlo a encontrar vías para la solución de este problema.

Confidencialidad.

Muchos casos o situaciones pueden llegar a ser muy interesantes, pero nunca olvidemos que siempre tenemos que guardar la confidencialidad, una vez más es parte de la ética profesional del psicólogo, si necesitas usar como ejemplo algún caso en particular recuerda que existen diferentes normas para proteger a nuestro paciente, No te olvides estudiarlas antes de hablar acerca de algún caso en particular.

No estamos para juzgar.

En definitiva en algún momento de nuestra vida trabajaremos con situaciones, que nos moverán algo ahí adentro, recuerda que por ello es importante que nosotros como psicólogos también acudamos a terapia, por ello hay que guardar respeto hacia nuestro cliente, por mucho que difiera de nuestro punto de vista, y por alejada que está se encuentra de la realidad, nosotros en vez de juzgar debemos orientar.

Disfruta lo que haces.

Sin dinero ninguno de nosotros podría sobrevivir, pero aquí lo más importante de forma personal es disfrutar lo que haces, el disfrutar de ayudar a los demás y por supuesto trabajar con pasión, el dinero sólo es un medio recuérdalo siempre, así que deja de preocuparte tanto por lo monetario y comienza a disfrutar lo que haces Recuerda que al final cada cliente se lleva parte de lo que eres como persona.

No te desanimes.

En más de una ocasión te entusiasmas de trabajar algún caso en particular y puede que el cliente no vuelva una segunda vez, lamentablemente eso es lo que ocurre todos los días, no todas las personas son capaces de tolerar la ansiedad y el estrés qué les genera el conocerse más a fondo y el trabajar sobre problemáticas que llevan acarreando durante años, choques culturales, estilos de crianza, puntos de vista diferentes, sea cual sea la situación, no te desanimes.

No tengas pena de pedir ayuda.

Como hemos mencionado con anterioridad los seres humanos somos demasiado complejos y puede que en alguna ocasión nos enfrentemos con alguna situación nunca antes vista, no dudes en acercarte a un compañero, un colega y pedir una opinión con respecto al caso.
