¡Hola a todos!

De repente y con el alma, y mis dedos escribiendo lo que siente… tratando de salvar quizás la distancia me separa de uno de los seres más especiales de mi vida: De ti Mamá: Rosa Mercedes Acuña. Me detengo, suspiro… y pienso como expresarte, es tanto lo que significas, que ni una historia larga y mucho menos una corta, describiría uno de mis mejores aciertos: haberte escogido como mi Madre.

No sé si estoy triste por no tenerte cerca, pero sí sé que estoy muy agradecida de estás bien y con salud. No te veo en primer plano desde hace un buen tiempo ya, pero escucho tu bendición y saludo infaltable cada mañana de mis días. Hoy se celebra el Día de las Madres; y tú siempre me dices: ¡Hija el Día de las Madres es todos los Días…! Y tienes mucha razón celebro cada día tenerte. ¿La distancia que nos separa me ha incitado estar plasmando estas líneas? Definitivamente sí. Pero también esa separación me ha provocado diversas cosas más. Mucho antes de esta separación, ya entendía aunque no lo expresaba como tal, el hecho de que “uno escoge a sus padres”. Antes pensaba y decía: la vida me los regalo; sin duda también es así. La vida me ha dado muchas cosas, y yo estuve atenta y en mi estado más puro hice una sabia elección: escogerte a ti. Puedo decirte muchísimas cosas hermosas mamá; pero hoy me miro al espejo y te veo a Ti y te digo: Gracias mami por existir, gracias por ser y estar en cada minuto de mis días, en mis llantos, en risas, en mis logros, en mis tristezas y en mi alegrías. Al mirarme en el espejo esta Tú… porque soy tu reflejo, lo que hiciste y aún haces por mí. Y ahí está tu gran obra: lo mejor de mí, viene de ti mamá. El ser mujer, madre, esposa, hermana, abuela. Mami yo soy tus valores y tus enseñanzas, tu trabajo y dedicación, soy tus canciones, tus palabras y tus frases; soy hasta tal vez lo que tú estuviese escribiendo ahora. Te dejo claro, que de mis defectos, errores, o lo no aprendido aún, soy yo la única responsable. Si, cada vez me parezco más a ti, pero reconozco que no te llego, no alcanzo aún ese nivel superior tuyo. Sabes que suelo decir que no hay distancia posible para los seres que uno lleva en el alma y el corazón, reconozco la distancia física que me separa de ti y estas circunstancias adversas que la ocasionan; pero también reconozco que jamás te había sentido tan cerca. Que la distancia maximizó el valor de tenerte, de contar con la Mejor Mamá del mundo, porque es TÚ eres la mía. Nada es para siempre… y aquí estoy con los brazos extendidos para un abrazo que aún no comienza y que nunca termina. Te amo en forma desmesurada... Tu hija mayor.

A la Comunidad de Hive mis disculpas y mi agradecimiento de antemano, por permitirme dejar un pedazo de mí. Sentí de repente las ganas de expresar por aquí, lo que puede haberle escrito a mi Madre primeramente. Definitivamente es esta distancia “insalvable por ahora” que tengo con mi Madre lo que llevo hacerlo. Tal vez con esto trato de aminorar la tristeza, puesto que esta distancia se está haciendo cada vez más larga. Ahora me siento menos triste y con más ánimo de enviarle esta carta a mi hermosa Madre. Gracias nuevamente.

I don't know if I am sad not to have you around, but I do know that I am very grateful that you are well and healthy. I haven't seen you in the limelight for quite some time now, but I hear your blessing and greeting every morning of my days. Today is Mother's Day; and you always tell me: Mother's Day is every day...! And you are so right I celebrate every day having you. The distance that separates us has prompted me to write these lines? Definitely yes. But this separation has also provoked me several other things. Long before this separation, I already understood, although I did not express it as such, the fact that "one chooses one's parents". Before, I used to think and say: life gave them to me as a gift. Life has given me many things, and I was attentive and in my purest state I made a wise choice: to choose you. I can tell you so many beautiful things mom; but today I look in the mirror and I see You and I say: thank you mommy for existing, thank you for being and being in every minute of my days, in my cries, in laughter, in my achievements, in my sadness and in my joys. As I look in the mirror there is You... for I am your reflection, what You did and still do for me. And there is your great work: the best of me, comes from you mom. To be a woman, a mother, a wife, a sister, a grandmother. Mommy, I am your values and your teachings, your work and dedication, I am your songs, your words and your phrases; I am perhaps even what you are writing now. I make it clear to you that I am the only one responsible for my defects, mistakes, or what I have not learned yet. Yes, I am becoming more and more like you, but I recognize that I don't reach you, I don't reach yet that superior level of yours. You know that I usually say that there is no distance possible for the beings that one carries in the soul and heart, I recognize the physical distance that separates me from you and these adverse circumstances that cause it; but I also recognize that I had never felt you so close. That the distance maximized the value of having you, of having the Best Mom in the world, because it is YOU are mine. Nothing is forever... and here I am with arms outstretched for an embrace that has yet to begin and never ends. I love you in an inordinate way..... Your oldest daughter.

To the Hive Community my apologies and my thanks in advance, for allowing me to leave a piece of me. I suddenly felt the urge to express here, what I may have written to my Mother in the first place. It is definitely this "unbridgeable for now" distance I have with my Mother that I have to do it. Maybe with this I try to lessen the sadness, since this distance is getting longer and longer.
