Namun saat saya memantau situasi di luar rumah kondisinya terlihat biasa-biasa saja. Namun pada pagi hari saat akan ke kantor, saya melihat mobil yang saya parkir di depan rumah terlihat berdebu di atapnya, saya baru menyadari bahwa benar dampak erupsi gunung sinabung sampai ke Kota Lhokseumawe, Aceh. Abu vulkanik yang berterbangan memang tidak seperti yang terjadi di beberapa daerah di sekitar Gunung sinabung di Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Menurut informasi dari beberapa media elektronik abu vulkanik dari Gunung Sinabung telah membuat gelap ladang kopi yang berada di kecamatan Salak, Kabupaten Pakpak Barat, Sumatera Utara. ![image](https://img.esteem.ws/dcg300oj5q.jpg) Selain itu banyak dari pengendara sepeda motor juga telah menggunakan masker untuk menghindari terhirupnya debu vulkanik tersebut karena menurut informasi yang saya dapat, abu vulkanik tersebut sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan. Dampak yang terjadi apabila terhirup abu vulkanik tersebut antaralain akan terjadinya iritasi saluran pernapasan, sekresi dahak meningkat, iritasi dan radang pada tenggorokan, batuk kering, dada sakit, kesulitan bernafas serta gejala asma. Selain berbahaya bagi pernapasan, abu vulkanik tersebut juga berbahaya bagi kesehatan mata antara lain iritas pada mata, mata terasa gatal dan perih, air mata keluar, abrasi pada kornea mata karena goresan oleh debu vulkanik.
