More parts followed during the week: a bumper cover and a replacement driver-side door handle (so he won’t get locked out again like he did… **on my birthday*). All fixed. ### Reparación de A/C Casero, Mejoras en Twitch y Supervivencia Diaria desde La Cancha del Caos

En La Cancha del Caos sabemos que la entropía existe — las cosas se descomponen todo el tiempo. Pero las reparamos.

Cada día, cada entorno enfrenta el paso del tiempo, la materia y la energía. Todo, en relación con su entorno, es puesto a prueba—y a veces dañado—por el intercambio de fuerzas y fricción con el mundo natural. A veces lentamente, a veces con un pum gran estallido 💥… y un siseo de freón escapando.

Es una lucha constante por mantener la estabilidad como una pequeña extensión humana de este universo.

Se necesita determinación para enfrentar los pequeños desastres. A veces es difícil apretar los dientes y levantarse—otra vez—por los propios medios para reparar o reemplazar las piezas que se rompen de repente o simplemente colapsan bajo la presión de las tormentas de la vida.

Pero eso es otra historia…

Reparación de Carro Casera — Un Desastre a la Vez

La esposa (yo, La gringa) estaba entregando comida vía Doordash y golpeó un pedazo de varilla que perforó tanto el parachoques como el condensador del A/C de nuestro Toyota Camry LE 2.5 eco-eficiente. **Pum!** Esto, justo después de haber pagado por un juego de llantas seguras. 🛞
Nuestro otro juego tenía algunos clavos incrustados.

Después de unas cuantas palabrotas 🤬—y algo de gratitud porque no fue peor 🙏—El Chino se arremangó y se puso a trabajar. Con YouTube como asistente, se sumergió en la reparación casera del condensador del A/C y del carro.

Yo también estoy orgullosa—aunque me quejo cuando usa canastas decorativas y mantas para sus herramientas grasientas.

El Chino ES un mecánico muy talentoso. Adquirió sus habilidades al crecer rodeado y ayudando a mantener camiones de construcción diésel y equipo pesado. Se esfuerza IRL para ofrecer servicios de mantenimiento y reparación de carros a locales y conocidos. Pero no tiene paciencia para esperar piezas de eBay o Amazon cuando sabe lo que quiere hacer.

Estamos especialmente agradecidos con O’Reilly Auto Parts por ayudarnos a conseguir el condensador de A/C y freón que necesitábamos con urgencia durante una semana llena de tormentas. También nos ayudaron con limpiaparabrisas nuevos para el Camry y la Volvo V70 2006.

Más piezas llegaron durante la semana: una cubierta de parachoques y una manija nueva para la puerta del conductor (para que no se quede afuera otra vez… como en mi cumpleaños). Todo arreglado.

Tomó más de un día, pero Chino logró estirar un presupuesto de cero dólares para arreglar el carro y todavía me ayudó a hornear un Pastel de Cumpleaños de Colibrí.

¿Por Qué Importa Esta Historia?

Perdimos una semana entera de ingresos solo tratando de mantener el carro que usamos para sobrevivir. Pero eso es solo un golpe entre muchos. Hemos perdido mucho más—ataques de perros, agresiones, persecución política, seres queridos, trabajos y hasta nuestro hogar.
