Cerca de Cumaná, capital del estado Sucre en Venezuela, conocida como la Primogénita del Continente Americano, se encuentra el pueblo que nos vió nacer, Marigüitar. Este enclave territorial hecho poblado desde el año 1700, duerme a orillas del Golfo de Cariaco en el curso de oeste a este de nuestro estado, con un habitual calor que ronda los 28 grados. >Near Cumaná, capital of the state of Sucre in Venezuela, known as the First Born of the American Continent, is the town where we were born, Marigüitar. El amanecer de ese Domingo 25 de febrero de 1951 era un tanto inclinado a la frescura. Mis padres con una inusitada alegría habían preparado todo lo concerniente a mi llegada. A la vista de la comadrona era inminente que sería ese día. Quizás lo impreciso para su vasta experiencia y en este tipo de situaciones, era poder saber la hora puntual del arribo. A las 5:45 pm, opté por salir de aquel noble recinto que me había albergado por un lapso de 9 meses y 3 días. El regocijo, era notorio. El único varón de la familia, como diría mi madre: "Su único palito" de un total de 5 hijos, había llegado. >The dawn on that Sunday, February 25, 1951, was somewhat inclined to coolness. Al colocar mi nombre, no pensaron ellos, cuantos retos debía enfrentar en lo sucesivo. El almanaque "Rojas Hermanos" destacaba en la fecha antes señalada que el santo de rezo era San Modesto. En esa época se colocaba el nombre del niño o niña, dependiendo del santo asignado. Quedé marcado que debía cumplir con el significado del nombre a fin de evitar contradicciones. Actuar con sencillez y recato era el norte a seguir. En cierto modo, escribir estas notas, me resultade hacer ñor lo ya expresado. >When they put my name, they did not think how many challenges I had to face in the future. # UNA INQUIETUD INICIAL REVELADORA/A REVEALING INITIAL CONCERN...

Mi niñez resultó realmente interesante porque me tocó compartir con un padre en cuyos cimientos estaba anclada la severidad, la disciplina y la autoridad. Aspectos que ahondaban una brecha generacional extensa, él tenía 60 años a la fecha de mi nacimiento. Las características conductuales de mi padre eran observadas por mi madre, quien no hacía resistencia a las mismas por no encontrarlas dañinas a mi interés y formación. Así que mi rebeldía signada por los nuevos tiempos, no tenía aliados, debía ser resuelta sin ayuda y sin apoyo. >My childhood was really interesting because I had to share with a father whose foundations were anchored in severity, discipline and authority. Aspects that deepened a wide generation gap, he was 60 years old at the time of my birth. My father's behavioral characteristics were observed by my mother, who did not resist them because she did not find them harmful to my interests and education. So my rebelliousness, marked by the new times, had no allies, it had to be solved without help and without support.

En la genética familiar hay una tendencia manifiesta por las Artes Plásticas y las Manualidades, mis herman@s mayores, de la primera relación de mi padre al igual que los de la segunda conjunción cultivaron expresiones artísticas por lo que existen Pintores, Carpinteros, Modistas, Escritores, Ebanistas, Artesanos, Músicos, Reposteros, quienes capitalizaban sin coincidencias asociadas las referencias del quehacer. Estos procederes se han mantenido en las generaciones subsiguientes. De tal manera que me tocó enfrentar mi realidad con esa carga biológica. Así se fue construyendo un vínculo permanente entre mi persona, la escuela, la calle, la Universidad y la vida misma. >In the family genetics there is a manifest tendency for the Plastic Arts and the Crafts, my older siblings, of the first relation of my father as well as those of the second conjunction cultivated artistic expressions for what there are Painters, Carpenters, Dressmakers, Writers, Cabinetmakers, Craftsmen, Musicians, Confectioners, who capitalized without associated coincidences the references of the task. # UNA PRUEBA ALGO TEMPRANA/A SOMEWHAT EARLY TEST

Uno de los primeros combates por la vida, fue atender una operación de las amigdalas. Me hice gestor de la misma a los 11 años, por lo que no me quedó más remedio que dormir cerca de una persona que estaba ya en el término de muerte con tal de asegurar la cama que por cierto estaban escasas en esos tiempos. Al concluir el ciclo de formación básica (Primaria) por no existir instituciones de Educación Media en mi pueblo de Marigüitar, tuve que trasladarme a Cumaná para proseguir los estudios. Debía ir solo a los 12 años, quedarme en una residencia familiar y regresar al hogar, mi dulce hogar, cada 15 días. >One of the first fights for life, was to attend a tonsil operation. At the end of the basic education cycle (elementary school) because there were no high school institutions in my town of Marigüitar, I had to move to Cumana to continue my studies. Confieso que me tocó vivir esta etapa en una sociedad cargada de valores y principios, donde el respeto por el semejante era de primer orden. Una sociedad de iguales sin oportunismos. Nuestro norte al divertirnos, fue el entretenimiento sano, provisto de sueños e ilusiones, impregnado de querencias posibles que ayudaran a la construcción de realidades. > I confess that I had to live this stage in a society full of values and principles, where respect for others was of the first order. A society of equals without opportunism. Our goal in having fun was healthy entertainment, provided with dreams and illusions, impregnated with possible desires that helped in the construction of realities. En el devenir de los años, llegaron los estudios superiores y Cumaná no reparaba en el logro de las aspiraciones personales. Por eso Caracas se convirtió en una meta a corto plazo para facilitar el ascenso y el crecimiento académico. >As the years went by, higher education arrived and Cumaná did not spare the achievement of personal aspirations. That is why Caracas became a short-term goal to facilitate promotion and academic growth.

El Instituto Pedagógico de Caracas, abría sus puertas en la formación de Docentes en Artes Plásticas y Expresión Gráfica. Previamente había cumplido un itinerario laboral, sorteando dificultades para mantener una mínima estabilidad económica que permitiera el logro del objetivo de estudiar. En el IPC, se fue construyendo un perfil que tenía ribetes de pedagogo y artista, 2 tendencias que muchos señalan como irreconciliables. El sostenimiento de estas facetas era también un reto, porque el tiempo de dedicación no daba lugar para compartirlas. >The Pedagogical Institute of Caracas opened its doors to train teachers in Plastic Arts and Graphic Expression. Previously, I had previously completed a work itinerary, overcoming difficulties to maintain a minimum economic stability that would allow the achievement of the objective of studying. At the IPC, he was building a profile that had the characteristics of a pedagogue and an artist, two tendencies that many point out as irreconcilable. Maintaining these facets was also a challenge, because the time of dedication did not allow for sharing them.

Posteriormente y en la dinámica de la superación me hice Abogado, dedicándome durante una década al libre ejercicio de la profesión. En un acumulado de 30 años me tocó dirigir instituciones educativas, participar en Congresos Pedagógicos y exposiciones de Pintura, colectivas e individuales, escribir algunos libros, hacer radio, producción de televisión, Diseñar catálogos, Realizar logotipos, y en los últimos días retomar la docencia pero a nivel universitario. >Subsequently and in the dynamics of self-improvement I became a lawyer, dedicating myself for a decade to the free exercise of the profession. In an accumulated of 30 years I had to direct educational institutions, participate in Pedagogical Congresses and Painting exhibitions, collective and individual, write some books, make radio, television production, design catalogs, make logos, and in recent days to resume teaching but at the university level.

Ahora el tiempo reclama la reinserción en la dinámica artística, habilitar la concepción poética, sostener la crónica como ejercicio en el orden literario, retomar la investigación cultural, ahondar en la búsqueda de una alternativa artistica a través del reciclaje y escudriñar en la artesanía a partir de elementos vegetales. >Now the time calls for the reinsertion in the artistic dynamics, enable the poetic conception, sustain the chronicle as an exercise in the literary order, resume cultural research, delve into the search for an artistic alternative through recycling and scrutinize the craftsmanship from plant elements. La tarea está en camino, ahora lo que falta es que los días lleguen a 36 horas para seguir aumentando la preocupacion y realización por estas actividades. >The task is on the way, now what is missing is that the days reach 36 hours to continue increasing the concern and realization for these activities.

Y es que me dije que la experiencia acumulada desde la pinta de murales en la calle, la actividad fílmica en formato Hi8, la conformación de talleres de Serigrafía, las peñas literarias, y el Diseño Gráfico, en algún momento tenían que salir a flote en un espacio distinto. Y llegó @maleidamarcano, con sus buenos oficios y deseos, con las inquietudes de siempre, con las limitaciones propias de estos tiempos y de nuestro medio. Y me dijo: "Puedes mostrar lo que haces a través de HIVE" y empezó a describrirme los pormenores relacionados con esta plataforma tecnológica... >And I said to myself that the experience accumulated from the painting of murals in the street, the film activity in Hi8 format, the formation of silkscreen workshops, literary peñas, and Graphic Design, at some point had to come out in a different space. And @maleidamarcano arrived, with his good offices and desires, with the usual concerns, with the limitations of these times and our environment. En atención a sus sugerencias encontré en @Hivesucre la oportunidad para aperturar la cuenta a través de la comunidad @ocd y por ende acceder a sus comunidades. >In response to his suggestions I found in @Hivesucre the opportunity to open the account through the @ocd community and therefore access their communities. Uno de los aspectos que deseo exponer es el área literaria. Expresar el tema poético como una inquietud del alma es ya una vivencia adelantada... >One of the aspects that I wish to expose is the literary area. To express the poetic theme as a restlessness of the soul is already an advanced experience... Aspiro contar los detalles de la artesanía y el reciclaje después de entender que lo inerme del material puede alcanzar otros niveles en su estructura. Poder transmitir que en la naturaleza, nada es permanente, sino que todo se transforma, no solo en si mismo, sino también a través de la intervención humana. >I aspire to tell the details of craftsmanship and recycling after understanding that the inertness of the material can reach other levels in its structure. To be able to transmit that in nature, nothing is permanent, but that everything is transformed, not only in itself, but also through human intervention.
