Greetings to this awesome Hive community. My name is Jaema Molina García aka Jaguart, I was born on December 14, 2000. Despite being born into a family of science, from a very young age I was always with the artistic and cultural part, my childhood was spent jumping week after week from the Museum of Fine Arts and the penetrables of Jesus Soto, to the exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the National Art Gallery, never missed an outing to the theater to listen to the Municipal Symphony Orchestra of Caracas or the programming of the Ballet Teresa Carreño.

My parents urged me to try different disciplines, from swimming and gymnastics to cuatro and dance. It was the latter that consumed most of my time for a duration of 10 years. At the age of 4, after watching a Barbie movie I decided that my dream was to be a ballet dancer, so I begged my mother, but it was impossible for her to find a school that could match our schedules

It was not until 2005 that I enrolled in the Anita Vivas Dance Academy and began my training in contemporary jazz dance, later, I got a place that was closer to my needs, the Lily Españoleto Academy, where I learned a variety of dance styles such as ballet, flamenco, samba, joropo, among others. I stayed there until I was 12 years old but I always wanted a more classical training, so I auditioned for the school of Ballet-Art Foundation Lidija Franklin, my stay was short, because at only 14 years old I suffered an injury in my right knee that made it impossible for me to continue my dream.

My most precious memories will always be those from backstage where the adrenaline flows, running to change costumes and touch up makeup between scenes, the endless rehearsals, practicing the choreography until it was only instinct that moved you, the suitcases full of tutus, tights, skirts and slippers, the camaraderie and unspoken understanding between dancers and the freedom to express myself without the need to speak. For I was always an introvert who found it hard to communicate, always daydreaming, or behind a book.

Losing my main means of expression was a big blow for me, not for nothing, between 2014 and 2017 was my darkest time, after a suicide attempt, the death of my father, psychiatric therapy and almost not being able to graduate from high school, that I managed to focus and look for a new goal in my life, photography.

This new path did not come out of nowhere, my parents, both biologists, took me on their field trips, in one in particular I met a wildlife photographer who amazed me with his incredible photographs, I especially remember one time we were walking through a mountainous terrain with lots of vegetation when suddenly the photographer stops, takes out his camera and shoots, I realized then, that while the rest of us were shuffling along tired and sweating in the sunlight this person was observing his surroundings carefully and managed to see a small caterpillar perched on a leaf, a being that seemed so insignificant and invisible to me, became the protagonist of a photo detailing all its coloration and even the smallest folds that made it up. I realized then that it was also a living being and this photograph would be a record of its existence, and a window into the inner world of the photographer, which allowed me, for a brief moment, to see the world through his eyes.

But not everything is easy in life, before graduating from high school I expressed my interest in photography, but this only received criticism, they told me “photography? art? you are going to die of hunger, better look for a real career. The only person who supported me was my mother who was willing to look for models of cameras and pensum of universities and even postgraduate studies in other countries. But I let myself go and decided that the best thing to do was to follow the step of my parents and choose the sciences, that's how I ended up studying medicine at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, almost at the end of my first year of medicine I decided to withdraw because although it was interesting to me my passion was always art, I spent several years without purpose until I decided to try to resume my university studies but now in a field that I liked, after several attempts I managed to get into the UNEARTE where I am now formalizing my studies.

Although drawing was not my main interest, I had no choice but to run after my fellow artists with years of practice, and although photography is my ultimate goal all these little steps and detours just add up to a lot of unforgettable experiences to my life path.

A pesar de nacer en una familia de ciencias, desde muy joven siempre estuve con la parte artística y cultural, mi infancia la pasé saltando semana a semana del Museo de Bellas Artes y los penetrables de Jesús Soto, a las exposiciones en el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, y la Galería de Arte Nacional, nunca faltaba una salida al teatro a escuchar a la Orquesta Sinfónica Municipal de Caracas o las programaciones del Ballet Teresa Carreño. >Mis padres me exhortaron a probar distintas disciplinas, desde la natación y la gimnasia hasta el cuatro y la danza. Fue esta última la que consumió la mayoría de mi tiempo por una duración de 10 años. A los 4 años, después de ver una película de Barbie decidí que mi sueño era ser una bailarina de ballet, por lo que le rogué a mi madre, pero a esta le era imposible conseguir una escuela que lograra coincidir con nuestros horarios. >No fue hasta el 2005 que me inscribí en la Academia de Danza de Anita Vivas y empecé mi formación en la danza de jazz contemporáneo, posteriormente, conseguí un lugar que se acercaba más a mis necesidades, la Academia de Lily Españoleto, donde aprendí una variedad de estilos de baile como el ballet, el flamenco, samba, joropo, entre otros. Permanecí allí hasta los 12 años pero siempre desee una formación más clásica, por lo que audicioné para la escuela de Ballet-Arte Fundación Lidija Franklin, mi estadía fue corta, pues a tan solo 14 años de edad sufrí una lesión en la rodilla derecha que me imposibilita continuar mi sueño. >Mis recuerdos más preciosos, siempre serán los de detrás del escenario donde la adrenalina fluye, corriendo para cambiarse de vestuario y retocar el maquillaje entre escenas, los interminables ensayos, el practicar la coreografía hasta que no fuera más que el instinto lo que te moviera, las maletas llenas de tutús, mallas, faldas y zapatillas, la camaradería y entendimiento tácito entre bailarines y la libertad de expresarme sin la necesidad de hablar. Pues siempre fui una persona introvertida a la que le costaba comunicarse, siempre soñando despierta, o detrás de un libro. >El perder mi principal medio de expresión fue un gran golpe para mí, no por nada, entre el 2014 y el 2017 fue mi época más oscura, después de un intento de suicidio, la muerte de mi padre, terapia psiquiátrica y el casi no poder graduarme de la secundaria, que logre centrarme y buscar un nuevo objetivo en mi vida, la fotografía. >Este nuevo camino no surgió de la nada, mis padres, ambos biólogos, me llevaban a sus salidas de campo, en una en particular conocí a un fotógrafo de fauna Silvestre quien me maravilló con sus increíbles fotografías, recuerdo especialmente una vez que estábamos caminando a través de un terreno montañoso con mucha vegetación cuando de repente el fotógrafo se detiene, saca su cámara y dispara, me di cuenta entonces, que mientras los demás íbamos arrastrando los pies cansados y sudando bajo la luz del sol esta persona observaba sus alrededores detenidamente y logró ver una pequeña oruga posada sobre una hoja, un ser que me parecía tan insignificante e invisible, pasó a ser el protagonista de una foto detallando toda su coloración y hasta los más pequeños pliegues la componían. Me di cuenta entonces de que también era un ser vivo y esta fotografía sería un registro de su existencia, y una ventana hacia el mundo interior del fotógrafo, que me permitió, por un breve instante ver a través de sus ojos el mundo. >Pero no todo es fácil en la vida, antes de graduarme de la secundaria expresé mi interés por la fotografía, pero esta solo recibió críticas, me decían ¿fotografía? ¿Arte?, te vas a morir de hambre, mejor busca una carrera de verdad. La única persona que me apoyó fue mi madre quien estaba dispuesta a buscar modelos de cámaras y pensum de universidades y hasta posgrados en otros países. Pero me dejé llevar y decidí que lo mejor era seguir el paso de mis padres y elegir las ciencias, fue así como terminé estudiando medicina en la Universidad Central de Venezuela, casi al terminar mi primer año de medicina decidí retirarme pues a pesar de que me era interesante mi pasión siempre fue el arte, estuve varios años sin propósito hasta que decidí intentar retomar mis estudios universitarios pero ahora en un campo que me gustaba, después de un varios intentos logré entrar en la UNEARTE donde me encuentro ahora formalizando mis estudios. >A pesar que el dibujo no era mi interés principal, no me quedó de otra que correr detrás de mis compañeros artistas con años de práctica, y aunque la fotografía es mi objetivo final todos estos pequeños escalones y desvíos solo suman una cantidad de experiencias inolvidables a mi camino de vida. #
