At the start of the week my family and I travelled from our home in Tyrone to a beach on the coast of Donegal. I had recently discovered the photographer called Ansel Adams and loved the work he did with landscape and black and white photography so while on this trip i wanted to try and recreate a similar style to his.

the following photos were all taken and edited by me.

Photo 1: taken in the car while driving towards the glenties, the cloudy weather is very common in Ireland and provides a unique background to the image.

Photo 2: similarly to the first image this photo was taken while driving to the campsite, the hill's ridge is the main focus of the image but the clouds and bushes along the road have an interesting look to them

Photo 3: this is the view i had from my tent and one of the few photos I didn't turn black and white in the edit, the colours work really well and the black and white effect ruined the photo.

Photo 4: while walking on the beach there were patches of sand the and mad ethe formation of waves due to strong winds, the image doesn't need much more explanation

Photo 5: One of my personal favourite of the whole trip. While walking along the beach i found this washed up piece of drift wood and was the perfect focus point of the picture, the driftwood brings a better sense of perspective with the landscape and the black and white effect works well with it.

Photo 6: This was one of the last photos i took while camping, by using the flash of my camera while inside this abandoned house i was able to get the landscape shot of the beach and the detail of inside the building into the same photo. other photos were taken like this without the flash but using the flash provided the best result.

these were the best out of the collection of photos i took over the 3 days i stayed there, also this is my first time posting so I hope this is the type of thing people would enjoy on this website. thank you for taking the time to see my photos.
