Actualmente en la Calistenia o Street Workout está más orientado en el ámbito competitivo en base a puntuación de elementos estáticos, dinámicos y Powermove. Es decir, un deporte que busca mostrar habilidades y fuerza basado en exhibición de estos movimientos. Sin embargo se a obviado un característica que muchos (por no decir todos) nos fijamos y es la estética o simetría de un cuerpo atlético. Claramente no todos buscan el mismo objetivo, pero no está demás conocer alternativas para entrenar más allá de las competencias y plantearnos metas mas personales.

En una entrevista sobre la actual polémica en 2023 en el ámbito Fitness, un competidor en culturismo Andoni Fitness, marca la diferencia al admitir que "es natural" (osea que no consume sustancias dopantes) aun comparando su físico con Culturistas del Mr. Olimpia. Lo que nos hace preguntar que tanto influye la genética en nuestro deporte y si realmente tiene importa. Pues en la Calistenia vemos a muchos atletas que incluso llevando el mismo régimen de entrenamiento obtienen resultados completamente distintos en fuerza, resistencia y lo mismo en masa muscular. En lo personal me resulta difícil progresar debido a la forma de metabolizar los macro-nutrientes de los alimentos, por lo que suelo acumular mayor índice graso. Lo que podemos concluir es que independientemente de nuestros entrenamientos el top de nuestra ganancia de masa muscular está marcada por la genética, aunque con una buena planificación y ejecución podemos superar ese límite.

El entrenamiento diario de básicos consiste realizar repeticiones de movimientos fundamentales y variaciones de Calistenia y gimnasia como son las Push up o Flexiones, Dominadas, Fondos en paralelas y barra fija y así. El entrenar de forma diaria puede ayudar a generar un reforzamiento articular al movimiento y dependiendo de la recuperación de la persona ser una buena opción para mejorar su masa muscular. Sin embargo, es el método más desordenado y poco efectivo debido a que no respeta el Principio de Sobrecarga progresiva que nos dice que debemos subir el volumen de nuestro entrenamiento de forma progresiva, y también obviamos la recuperación activa, que sería la etapa donde descansamos de la intensidad de nuestros entrenamientos.

Si lo que buscamos es mejorar nuestros estáticos de calistenia y potenciar nuestra masa muscular, podemos probar hacer series al fallo técnico de los estáticos que nos toca hasta agotar el musculo y sistema nervioso para mejorar tanto el movimiento y tener un plus de bombeo muscular. Es decir, hacer progresiones de un ejercicio de forma descendente al punto no podemos realizar repeticiones con técnica limpia. Por ejemplo, si queremos entrenar los hombros y bíceps un mismo podía podemos hacer Dropset de Plancha o Full Planche como lo ven a continuación. Realizar una Full Planche, seguido de Stradder, seguido de Adv y luego aguantar en Lean a mas no poder. Las ventajas es que usaremos muy poco tiempo para realizar las series y una intensidad muy alta. El principal inconveniente es que saber que músculos trabajamos en el estático que elegimos, dejando claro también, que dependiendo la técnica vamos a enfatizar con mayor intensidad otros grupos musculares, aun usando el mismo estático.

Hasta aquí llegamos a un tópico importante, porque hablamos de mezclar nuestro entrenamiento de peso corporal de Calistenia con el entrenamiento focalizado de Gimnasio. Primero que todo debemos pensar que ya con el simple hecho de practicar ambos resulta complicado debido a que tendremos un mayor gasto calórico. La principal ventaja es que podemos focalizar músculos que son muy difíciles entrenar eficientemente con Calistenia, como pueden ser los Femorales, Pantorrillas, La cabeza larga del Tríceps y Pectoral. Pero, estaremos en la desventaja de entrenar a un alto rango de lesión, es decir, poner en riesgo nuestro progreso por un sobre entrenamiento causado por una mala planificación.
