Praise the cooking gods !

I wanted to share with you the holy trinity of cooking.

Most cuisine around the world gravitate around three cooking ingredients. Master them and you will be on your way to become a kitchen jedi.

1.Olive oil, chilli, garlic

Ever wondered why Italian food taste so bloody damn amazing ? Thats the reason. The olive oil bring out the flavour out of the garlic while gently infusing. Top it up with chilli and you got one of the best combo in the world.

What to cook with it ?

Anything, just start that off as the base of your sauces - or as a sauce. Chuck in some clams for a tasty vongole, or use as a base for cooking fish, lamb or beef. It also works pretty damn well as a marinade and is perfect to baste over your stuff grilling on the BBQ in the summer.

2.Sesame oil, garlic, soy sauce

Umami, umami, umami. If you have never heard of it, umami again. What is now believed to be the sixth taste, this Asian classic is the foundation in many dishes. It makes for a very fast flavour enhancer for many ingredients.

What to cook with it ?

Fish, veggies, meat. Simple and idiot proof.

3.Butter, shallots, white wine

My favourite. French classic. Get your butter in the pan and when just melted, turn down the heat so it doesnt burn. Add your shallots finely chopped, when softened add a splash of white wine. Voila!

What to cook with it ?

Goes amazingly well with veggies and fish, just baste constantly while cooking in the pan and you are golden.

Bonus tip : If your food doesn't taste of anything, add salt and pepper (pepper always after cooking), still bland ? More seasoning. Too salty ? Too late :)
