Interview with the VP of Technology from aelf

Rong Peng, VP of Technology from aelf, has a decade of experience in Internet development and management. He was a Technical Director at ABC Fintech where he was an expert in data mining and data visualization. Rong Peng also worked on a platform-based Blockchain for Tongxinclub in China. He is a former R&D Director (server-side) for Dolphin Browser.

He joined Dolphin-Browser, one of the most popular mobile browsers on smartphones in 2011. At the time, he was a Systems Director responsible for important projects such as Dophin Sonar (speech recognition), big data platform (similar to Umeng), news recommendation system and some innovative projects.

In 2016, Rong Peng co-founded ABC. He was part of the core management (initial shareholder) and serve as the Technical Director. At that time, the development track was defined as finance (AI+Blockchain+Cloud). The first breakthrough point was blockchain. The product was called Tongxinclub, a blockchain-based mutual assistance platform, which was designed to solve the current problems in mutual assistance, such as opacity and low efficiency. The advantages of applying blockchain are: information is made public, efficient democratic decision-making, error-free contract execution and the system will never crash. The second breakthrough point was AI+Cloud. The products were modeling.ai analyst.ai, and Eversight, which were designed to use technologies like in-depth learning and image processing to change inefficient ways of obtaining and processing information in the traditional finance field.

Rong Peng has been actively involved in the fields of software architecture, system optimization, blockchain, data aggregation, data mining and data visualization. Since joining Dolphin, he has been actively engaged in research and development as well as management (including product management), therefore accumulating a lot of experience in his management of product and research.

Coincide with the Founding Team
Since being exposed to the concept of blockchain, Rong Peng believes that blockchain is different from traditional technology. It embodies the ecology and equilibrium. It is a model that can make the productivity and the production relationship perfect, which is valuable to improve the existing organizational and social problems. Based on the potential of future development in blockchain, at the end of 2017, he decided to devote himself to the blockchain business.

In the white paper of aelf, aelf is compared to Linux in blockchain. aelf is a decentralized cloud computing platform, in which nodes are divided according to types. Specialized billing nodes (all nodes) can run on server clusters to improve the performance of the entire blockchain network; “main chain + multi-sidechain” structure can effectively achieve resource segregation, namely “One Chain to One Scenario” ; the establishment of a proxy voting system for token holders guarantees efficient network governance and healthy development.
